Anastasia has carved out a unique, award-winning path that encompasses music, film and television while building a creative bridge between Nashville and Hollywood. Anastasia has music supervised Oscar, Grammy, Dove and Emmy winning and nominated films and television series. Brown currently runs Format’s Nashville office.
Brown is well-regarded within the industry as an expert on “heartland” content and music. In the 1990s, Brown was one of a select group of female managers in Nashville, heading up the Nashville division of Miles Copeland’s management company and served as an A&R consultant for his label, Ark 21 where she worked with artists such as Sting, Peter Frampton, Leon Russell, Waylon Jennings, Junior Brown, John Berry and Keith Urban.
Brown segued into music supervision and has gone on to supervise an impressive array of award winning films and television series including The Americans for DreamWorks Television, the 2011 remake of Footloose for Paramount Pictures, and the critically acclaimed documentary For the Love of Music: The Story of Nashville.
In addition to her supervision work, Brown is widely recognized nationally as one of the public faces of Nashville’s creative community and often serves as an official or unofficial liaison between Hollywood, New York and Nashville projects. She served as a judge on Nashville Star for three years, wrote the book Make Me A Star which offers guidance for aspiring artists, writers and musicians and is an active board member of the Nashville Film Festival, helping expand film and TV opportunities for musicians on the NARAS music production advocacy committee.
Brown is known for her unwavering commitment to artists and the music, film and TV projects they create. She is driven to find and develop new opportunities for Nashville’s music industry within the film and TV space to build and monetize brands while also adding new distribution channels for the music they create.
